Why we build our own products (and what that means for clients)

Most agencies don't build their own products. Most product companies don't take client work. Round Bytes does both, on purpose.
We build client work because it keeps us sharp. Every new industry, F&B, fashion, logistics, ministries, stretches the design vocabulary and forces us to solve problems we wouldn't encounter in our own stack. Breadth.
We build our own products, Optserv and Tucope, because it keeps us honest. When you run your own SaaS, you feel every pixel of friction. You pay for every bad database decision. You live with every onboarding misstep. That compound learning is what we bring back to client projects.
The crossover is real. A payment integration we fought with on Optserv informs the payment architecture we recommend to a client two months later. A UX pattern we A/B tested on Tucope becomes a default in our design system. This isn't theoretical, it's why our engineering estimates are sharper and our design feedback is more specific than agencies that only consume, never ship.
If you're hiring an agency, ask them: "What have you shipped with your own money on the line?" The answer tells you everything about the kind of partner you're about to work with.
